The Lunch Witch is a graphic novel by Deb Lucke about a witch that gets a job in a school canteen. Deb asked me to animate this short film to generate excitement around the book. She has since used this animated short to pitch to Dreamworks who have optioned The Lunch Witch as a live action feature starring Kate McKinnon, which is due for release in 2021. I co-directed this short and was responsible for all the animation, which is a combination of cel and after effects work. The characters were mostly animated in photoshop.
